Lead Power Systems Engineer

EEPLUS Inc. seeks a Lead Power Systems Engineer in Irving, Texas.

Need master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Need 3 years of experience as Electrical Engineer, including three years of experience in power system planning and power system modeling, including grid code compliance modeling, with familiarity with ERCOT requirements related to generation interconnection and load modeling, including Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) testing. Position Description:

  • Lead a team of power system planning, modeling, and study engineers to perform system planning studies associated with the integration of renewable energy, large data center loads, and other emerging technologies to the grid in a reliable manner in compliance with the ISO/RTO grid code requirements.

  • Provide technical supervision on transmission planning studies, renewable grid interconnection studies, and grid reliability studies compliant with NERC standards in ERCOT.

  • Supervise and perform N-1-1 contingency analysis and steady state assessment using PSS/E for planning studies. Develop advanced tools and optimization applications to enhance the power systems' operation, control, and planning.

  • Serve as the final technical reviewer for advanced power system analyses, including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) evaluations, system stability assessments, and reactive power planning, ensuring technical rigor and regulatory compliance.

  • Define and govern enterprise-wide standards for power system simulation tools and automation platforms, including oversight of Python-based analytical frameworks used across planning and interconnection projects.

  • Lead the strategic assessment of transmission system capability, identifying congestion risks, infrastructure limitations, and system enhancement opportunities to support renewable integration and evolving grid demands.

  • Review, approve, and present final technical reports and executive summaries, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency with approved methodologies and industry standards.

  • Act as the primary technical advisor to clients, utilities, and internal stakeholders by interpreting study outcomes, regulatory requirements, and system constraints, and translating technical findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Lead engineering resource planning and prioritization, identifying technical risks, dependency issues, and mitigation strategies across multiple concurrent grid planning initiatives.

  • Provide technical mentorship and performance guidance to engineering staff by reviewing work products, setting quality expectations, and supporting professional development.
