Lead Engineer
EEPLUS Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer in Irving, Texas.
Need master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Need 3 years of experience as Electrical Engineer, including three years of experience in power system planning and power system modeling, including grid code compliance modeling, with familiarity with ERCOT requirements related to generation interconnection and load modeling, including Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) testing. Position Description:
Lead a team of generation interconnection engineers in performing grid interconnection studies, including interconnection application support, steady-state, short-circuit, and dynamic modeling analyses, Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) testing, and model testing and validation.
Conduct technical power flow analyses and prepare and submit generation and load interconnection applications for multiple customers, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and technical sufficiency of data at various stages of the interconnection process across ISO/RTO markets, including ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, PJM, SPP, WECC, SERC, and other applicable regions.
Prepare and deliver all technical components of Model Quality Test (MQT) packages for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), including compliance with applicable Qualified Scheduling Agent (QSA) requirements.
Lead and manage transmission injection and feasibility study projects from initial scoping through final reports and deliverables, including quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews and technical discussions with clients.
Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients, ISO/RTO representatives, Qualified Scheduling Agents (QSAs), and other external stakeholders regarding interconnection requirements, study results, and regulatory compliance matters.
Oversee and review the development of dynamic models for various generation and load technologies, including wind, solar, battery energy storage systems, conventional generation, and large load facilities, to meet regional modeling requirements for interconnection studies using industry-standard software such as PSS®E.
Manage generation and load interconnection applications and associated modeling activities across multiple ISO/RTO markets. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers to support the delivery of grid interconnection and project development advisory services.
Conduct final quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of technical analyses and modeling outputs and approve deliverables prior to client submission. Collaborate with clients to identify technical project requirements and review technical scopes of work and supporting documentation for project proposals.
